Another successful Day of Service - June 17th!
Here is the latest opportunity to strengthen
your faith and connect with the community.
Where better to learn about mission than at church!!
Sharing of our love, sharing of our gifts, and joy in giving was the lesson the children discussed during church school. The children decorated cards with those words which went to each child in their back packs. Following service the children gathered in the gym to fill 60 back packs for their KidsEat mission project. There was a large participation on the part of the children’s parents and church family filling bags together. It is with gratitude that the children thank you. Lessons were learned that their efforts and contributions big or small do make a meaningful impact on hunger and poverty. Wonderful comments were generated on their feelings of why we do mission and how it may make others feel who receive their gifts.
Do things without people knowing- being humble.
Do something nice for others.
Helping my mommy.
Working for God.
Make them feel happy
A surprise and surprises are fun!!!
Kids Eat! Backpacks
May 7, 2017 During Fellowship
Friday, April 21st at 6:30 p.m.
We will start the evening off with a tasty dinner for everyone in the Fellowship Hall.
Then we will have a fun movie for the kids in one of the classrooms (as well as nursery care available for the little ones).
For the parents, we will have a special program in the Fellowship Hall! We plan to have an interactive night where you as parents can learn about and experience the various programs and opportunities that we have at Cottonwood for children and youth.
The Discipleship Ministry Team will also be presenting some new ideas for the summer and the upcoming year. We value your needs, hopes, and ideas, and we would love to hear your feedback!
It's almost Easter again, and that means time for our annual community Easter Egg Hunt!! The Easter Egg Hunt will be on Saturday, April 15th at 10:00 a.m. We'll start with crafts, pictures with the Easter Bunny, a bouncy house, refreshments and more. Everyone welcome!!
Thank you Cottonwood Presbyterian Church for your gift of mission dollars. We purchased 100 re-usable Afripads today for the repaired fistula women. Thanks also for the beautiful blankets (made by prayer shawl women) which will be gifted to the repaired women and for the bags of yarn for the women to knit with.
This Sunday after church we spent some time packing 'love in a glove box'--small packages filled with essentials to hand out to anyone we encounter who is in need. And we had a blast doing it!
