Progress continues for the PNC, with nearly 40 Pastor Information Forms (i.e. resumés) received so far from prospective pastors! These include a nice mixture of people who contacted us directly, recommendations from people who know Cottonwood and electronic matches from PC(USA)’s Church Leadership Connection (CLC) site. The CLC electronically searches all Pastor Information Forms (PIFs) and matches them based on very strict and specific criteria that were outlined in Cottonwood’s Church Information Form (CIF).
The PNC has begun the process of prayerful consideration and discussion, to reach consensus on each PIF. It is critical that candidates have the necessary experience, skills, passion and personality – so picking the right PIFs is just the first step in our selection process. This process will require patience in order to find the person that God has planned to lead Cottonwood. We’re excited and hopeful for the future! Please continue to pray for the PNC.

Helping people who cannot think clearly
Try to be calm and relaxed.
Be relaxed and the person you are caring for will relax, too.
Find ways to make things easier.
• Set up the home so it is easier to help.
• Present a task or activity in a new way.
Visit at a time of day when the person is most alert.
Do not force a task or activity:
Make the home a calm and relaxing place.
Do tasks in small, easy steps.
Break tasks, like brushing teeth, into small steps.
Steps to brush teeth:
1. Get toothbrush.
2. Hold toothbrush.
3. Put toothpaste on brush.
4. Brush teeth.
5. Rinse mouth.
6. Rinse toothbrush.
7. Put toothbrush away.
Go slowly.
Use reminders.
Use a big calendar:
• Write down events and the time of the event.
• Write down tasks that need to be done.
• Check off the things that are done.
Set an alarm to go off when it is time to do a task:
• Time to take medicines
• Time to go somewhere
• Time to call someone
Keep important things in one place:
Make dressing easier:
Make it easy to find what is needed.
Do not overfill closets or drawers.
Give only 2 choices.
Make toileting easier:
About medicine side effects:
